You will walk along the Corderie Royale, the longest industrial building in Europe from the 17th century , 374 meters old rope factory. For two centuries, La Corderie Royale manufactured ropes for the tall ships of the Royal Navy. It now hosts the Center International de la Mer, which offers a permanent exhibition on ropes and temporary exhibitions on the human adventure of the sea.

You will pass in front of the Hermione shipyard to discover the Transporter Bridge classified as a historic monument, the last witness of the French transporter bridges. The nacelle, put back into service, will allow you to cross the Charente to continue your hike on the other side of the Charente.

The walk, in the opposite direction, along the banks of the CHARENTE, or in the gardens of the return will lead you to the pleasure basins...

You will discover the famous Fort Boyard in the distance . The boat cruise, possible from the Corderie Royale, will allow you to admire it more closely, and to tread the ground of the ILE D'AIX where Napoleon stayed.
